crazy insurance
Hey, I was about a day or two away from buying a Ninja 650R until I got some quotes for insurance. I was quoted $1350 for 12 months of insurance with $1000 collision & comprehensive deducts. I'm 22 years old, and the Bike is a 2007 model -- also, with about the bare minimum liability coverage. A little over $100/month for insurance is way too much to pay for a bike I can only ride about 6 months out of the year (Michigan). What are you all paying for insurance?
I ended up buying the 2007 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Custom -- insurance running at only about $35/Month.

RE: crazy insurance
I can't remember what I pay but it is not that much (wife pays all the bills I just bring in the money to get them payed). But I can tell you that the age and type of bike makes a big difference.

RE: crazy insurance
I pay about $480 a year through Statefarm for the insurance on my 07 650r. I am 30 years old with a spotless driving record and I am carring full coverage on the bike with a$500 deductible.

RE: crazy insurance
It also depends on how long you have had your Motorcycle licence. I pay $236 a year liability on my 04Ninja 250R and I got the bike 3 days after I got my licence. Full coverage was $700 something a year. But I won't get a new bike for another 1 1/2 years or so. And then I will be eyeing the 650 R if they are still made.

RE: crazy insurance
Age, record and ride play an important role in insurance. My 06 10r full coverage with $170 deductable runs about $570/yr. But according to FN I am an old dude! An MSF cert or similar brings the rates down as well.
