i need some help here. after charging the battery fully, my 500 wont start up unless fully choked, and then as soon as i start to take the choke off, the engine dies right away. i have no idea what might be wrong. anyone have any ideas?

I say pull the carbs and do a thorough cleaning especially the low speed circuit along with checking float heights and for any pin holes in the floats while you are at it.

 

I don't see the battery having anything to do with it. Did you remove the battery to charge it? If so, did you remove any vacuum lines by accident? I've never seen the battery compartment of a 500 Ninja before, so I don't know what's involved when taking out the battery. Just sounds like some other item has been effected. Your battery cannot cause this problem alone.

 

i didnt mean that the battery had anything to do with it, i was just trying to get across the idea that i was just getting the bike out for the year.

cleaning the carbs helped a lot. it finally runs! thanks!
