Default Starter wont start?

so my stater was working, and then i just heard clicking from the little box on the side of the bike that the red wire connects to (magnetic switch i believe) and it wont turn the bike over, i disconnected the wires and reconnected them, cleaned up the connection surfaces and it still does it, but if i disconnect the wire to the starter and hit the red wire it turns over, is the switch bad? or could i have over heated it? I have had the bike running since ive gotten it, just had to replace the one way gear behind the flywheel, and the bike wasnt starting up so i jus kept running it over messing with the choke and throttle, and it stopped working

The starter relay has a 30 amp fuse. Check that too.
