Hi all - tried cranking the bike for the 1st time today after top end rebuild - I have my car battery hooked up, fuel seems to be flowing while cranking, ive cleaned the carbs, set float height, cleaned and tested coils/new plugs.. Not sure if it makes a difference but I connected the red wires to coil positive and the black and green to the negative? (black = 1 and 4), (green=2 and 3).

Also, the solenoid clicks when I use the button, but when I bridge it its very lively - solenoid faulty?

In that case what are the two thin wires going to solenoid, one is the starter button, whats the other one - ballast to coils during cranking? I have a for dsolenoid here I might be able to plumb in for the time being
