Internal lighting in instrument cluster

RE: Internal lighting on instrument cluster
The good news is that the bulbs are cheap, even if you get the OEM bulbs from the dealership. The bad news is that they're a PITA to get at.
You'll have to remove the front fairing:
~remove the two rearview mirrors
~loosen the two downward-facing 10mm bolts
~and the two downward-facing, fine-thread phillips screws that mount the fairing to the gas tank.
Now, looking at the underside of the instrument cluster, there should be two 8mm nuts holding it to the steel subframe. Just loosen those, lift the cluster and swap the bulbs. Reassemble reverse of tear-down. Might as well take your time and clean everything really well while you have it apart.
Good luck and let us know if any questions come up.
Peace!

RE: Internal lighting on instrument cluster
Whoa! I just priced the OEM bulbs at $3.73 x 8 = $29.84![:-]
(3 each, #92069, plus 5 each, #92069A)
Maybe I can identify the bulbs after I pull them out and by them cheap, locally.
I'll let you know what I find out.

Oh jeez! Why didn't I think of that!? I've got TWO instrument clusters in my garage right now. <forehead-slapping smiley>

I stopped by an auto parts store and bought standard automotive instrument panel light bulbs for $2.88 a pair. They work just fine, at less than half the cost, and no shipping charge.
