yeah, sucks about the blue one I found - they gotta be out their fuken minds $4800 for a used 05 vs. a brand new 07 for $5100 OTD! I guess if I go with 07 then it will be silver, if an 06 then the red.... we'll see how it all playes out......

 

The key is to b paticient, I looked at at least 15 bikes before I bought mine.

Ventura and Reseda is a nicer area than Panorama now a days. I used to go to a skate board park in reseda called skatercross it was cool as hell back in the day.

Notstock's right - the key is patience. I know when I was looking for a bike, I had not much patience! Good thing my dad was helping me out or I would've bought the first one I looked at (and let me tell ya I would've regretted it!) After the first one I looked at, I managed to come across three or four different 500's - after doing some digging, two of them were definately out of the question. One of them I was considering but the guy selling it was a big jerk. The one I bought - couldn't beat the deal I got on it!

So good luck and before you know it, you'll be sitting on your very own 500!

Is $5,100 OTD price a good one for the 07 Silver 500R?

Anybody have any prices I can compare too?

On the 06 Red, they are asking about $4,999 OTD so no brainer which year to get....... still wich I could find a Blue 05, since that's my first color choice and would be a little cheaper as well......

Do you guys also think that there will be more used ones available since it is getting colder out and summer riding season is coming to an end..... ????......

 

I bought a new 2007 (metalic Ti / Silver) for $4,800.00 OTD in Alabama. <Note: I had to trailer it home because the dealers in my area are not easy to deal with. I had to drive about 100 miles away from home to purchase it.>

I had a lot of people play the MSRP game with me. Some wanted to add to that and some had a price in excess of MSRP.

I finally got one dealer to start working with me. He had a '06 (green) that he wanted to move. It was getting close to the '07's hitting the show-room floor. And, the end of the month.

After that I started playing the I got this price game with all the dealers and would they match it or do better. I found a dealer right away that offered me a still the box '07 for the '06 price. Remember that that '06 was eating into the profit of the other dealer. His floor plan was now costing him money on that '06.

Anyway you are in a good spot. (Especially if you are willing to trailer a bike from a dealer. Read as out of your immediate area.) With the end of the year upon us, you should start playing hard ball with the dealers. Or, make-up a price you like and start shopping around. I did not do that but, the dealer that matched the price did not blink or ask for verification of the other dealer's price.

we'll see what the guys says next week, i told him about the $5,100 and asked if he can do better.... but there is other in the area I will call again next week to see and play the game as you said.....
