You will love your zippy new ZX6R, but every time you see a 500 go by, you'll feel a slight tinge of regret and wish that you still had that Gumby-green 500.
And you'll feel a slightly larger tinge every time you have to put premuim in your tank. And you'll feel yet a slightly larger twinge than that when you recieve the semi-annual bill from your insurance company.
But we have to follow our hearts, no matter what onerous tribulations that path may exact from us.

Correct myself? Did I mispeak or say something untrue?
I don't care what modifications you make to a 500, on a quarter mile or desert road, it will not be able to touch a modern 600. Heck, my ex-wife's '02 ZX6R (the same model as the current ZZR600) easily went faster than 150mph!
Your only hope against one of them is on a very twisty road.

Its been on my mind awhile, every time I go to the bike shop I sit on it.............which pretty much means Im loving it. I wont lie, I love the way it looks and I would like that little bit more of top end, but really Im such a big guy I just think I would look more well suited on a 600. I know I know, if Im so big why dont I just get one of the gargantuan bikes right? No thanks, there is nowhere around to enjoy something that big and expensive where I am.

"Look more well-suited on a 600"...?
I'll buy into* the I want more top-end argument but who gives a turd what it 'looks' like?
It's a vehicle and a play-thing, not a wedding dress.
I always chuckle when I see morbidly-obese guys riding around on Ducatis with carbon-fiber everything (because Ducatis are such pigs.) I'm not chubby, but the two Ducatis I've ridden made me feel like Jabba-the-Hutt mounting Carrie-Fisher.

So how can these rotund fellows possibly look 'well-suited' on these little-bitty shriner bikes?

And why is it all the skinny little walking-Adam's-apples have to get the most gargantuan and loudest Harleys?
But then, who cares what it looks like. We must follow our hearts, no matter how rocky the path.
