Default Finally broke 10,000 Miles

I bought Gumby (my 2006) in December of 2006 and he's finally broken 10,000 miles. I ordinarily ride at least 20,000 per year, but between riding my other bikes and needing back surgery last year... Gumby's been neglected. Only one tipover (in soft sand at the beach) and one ruined speedometer cable, when I didn't slot the speedo assembly properly into the front fork when reinstalling the front wheel--but fortunately had a spare speedo cable from Gumby's predecessor, Lolita.

Gumby's getting a custom surfboard rack made & installed this week, similar to these:

Safe riding,

if there is one thing i respect about you Chris, its how multi-functional you make your bike (and not just for looks but you actually use it)

Wow, beautiful 2 bikes. And those surfboard holding bikes are amazing!

I must say, the red 500 looks exactly like mine, complete with 2 broken front turn signals (I'm a newb rider and dropped it once on each side[sm=chairshot.gif]) I had to do a double take it looked so similar to mine. But then I noticed the side view mirrors are different.

Man I envy you.
The green is fine and I do appreciate it's visibility in traffic, but there's nothing sexier than that red 2002 model all pained up like a hooker-in-church-on-a-Sunday. The only other 500 that comes close is the bizarre white/gold of the 89 EX500.
Several times, I've had all the fairing pieces and gas-tank in the [shopping cart], and then chickened out at the last minute. (Stupid reason!) Once the renovations on my condo are paid-off, I'll be riding red again, oh yes!
And I might even order the OEM decals from the '89 model and have my green bodywork powdercoated white, which would look slicker than owl-****.

Ride safely!

can you powdercoat the bodywork? i guess my real question is will the plastic withstand 15 minutes in the oven at 400 degrees?
