Default Jetting & mods for 7,000 to 11,000 above sea level?

Hey thanks everyone,
New KLX owner! First bike in 15 years. Loving the bike; feeling the need for the power that seems to be in there. Big Gun is on order and I have followed your posts as to mods but am curious if anyone at this elevation has found a starting point for jetting, air screw, slide vent hole drill size, etc.

mmatz,

I live at 5200ft, cruised up to 10,600 on Tuesday.

A good place to start is: drill slide 7/64s, KDX Snorkle, 122 main, stock pilot, mixture screw out 1 turn, N1TC needle on 2nd clip.

This is only a starting point, I'm still tweaking. I had the mixture screw at 2.5 turns, had good mid rpm power, but the low end didn't feel any better than stock. Turning in the mixture screw increased the low end and didn't seem to affect the mid range.

Good luck. If you happen into a better combination, please let me know...

I live at 6200 but sometimes ride up to 10000 and Im using 35 pilot 120 main N1TC 2nd notch from the top 2.5 out on fuel screw and it worked good with 13/42 gearing. But I just changed to 13/47 and it needs more gas up top because I use it more, so I guess im gonna go 122 main now.

Thanks for the input,
All parts should be delivered for fitment before the weather goes south. I live @ 7500 ft. and have access to national forest trails that take you over 11,000 ft. We need to breath!
