EX and ER
I just saw a picture of the ER500 and really like the look of it. Am I correct in thinking that the removing the front faring and changing the tank are the only noticeable difference?
Does anyone have any experience with the ER500?

Welcome to America, amigo.
The only ones who don't b1tc# about the limited availability of "jap bikes" are the in-bred Harley-hillbillies and the Harley-lobbyists who dreamed up the idea of taxing imported bikes in such a manner that only Europe, South America, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, Africa, Australia, Madagascar, and a few other smaller islands/continents receive bikes like that.
The closest you'll find to that bike you'll find on the land of oil, firearms and the spiraling American peso is the EN500:

the frame is totally different. also, the ER has a twin shock setup, as opposed to the EX's single shock.

Could I go to Canada and pick one up?
It's really a shame it's not available here. I hate to admit it, but I like the look of it better than my EX. That's EX500, not ex-girlfriend...
she was hot. She was a foreign model that should have been banned from import to the USA.
