Already change brake pad?

RE: Already change brake pad?
Typically between 15-20,000 miles, BUT if you install the pads with the rinky-dink little pad-retainers crooked (which is very easy to do), the pads will wear out in 5,000 miles or less.
The pads will also wear out quickly if your rotors are warped. How many miles on the bike?
Motorcycle pads do not last as long as auto brake pads.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.
Peace!

Oh. It sounded like there was something wrong.
You can inspect the pads yourself. There are 'wear-grooves' notched into the pad material. As long as these are still showing, your pads should be absolutely fine. In fact, you can usually get a few more thousand miles out of the pads after this, but why pinch pennies on something that could risk your life?

just a note - while you can go longer on the pads after they reach the wear mark, they lose their ability to dissipate heat the further they wear, so if you ride hard you may experience brake fade. it's a good idea to replace them when you notice they're down to the wear bars.
now that we mention this... i need to have a look-see at mine...
