2007 kawasaki need help
i have a 2007 kawasaki ninga 500r. i need to know what the 17mm bolt on the right side of the engine is, near the bottom nearly right beside the oil veiwing window. i accidently took it out thinking it was the oil drain plug, a small amount of oil came out. i put the bolt back but not sure what it was for or if i need to add oil or something else back to it or even where. i did manage to chane oil and oil filter the correct way, just afraid to crank it or drive it till i find out what that bolt was for. any help would be greatly appreciated.

As long as you didn't lose enough oil to affect the level in your site-glass, it should be fine.
I'm not sure what that bolt is, and it's not even mentioned on the part fiche (buykawasaki.com) but as long as you didn't lose too much oil, it's fine.
The oilpan drainplug is the downward-facing 17mm bolt at the very bottom of the engine.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.

I was told that it is the "mail oil gallery plug" it is a hex bolt , black in color, and the part number i was told is a " 92066 " but i havent gotten back in touch with them yet so im not really sure thats what it is. the bolt has a hole through the center and the hole comes out in the side of the threads on the inside of the crankcase. I have a pic i just took i will add it as an attachment. maybe it will help to identify it for sure. I drained the old oil and changed the oil filter but havent filled it back up with oil yet.
thanks again , jay
