Don't Ride in tenny shoes..........but what you listed are the main things to check for. And depending on riding conditions grease your chain every 500 -600 miles unless riding in wet conditions then do it more often.

Nice Bike and Color.

Oh yea and watch out for that $39 a month payment. After 1 or 2 years it jumps from a low APR to a High APR and like $120 - $180 a month in payments to pay off the bike.

once your break in period is done (make sure you do plenty of engine breaking, as in downshift and let the motor slow you down. this is very important to a good break-in) then its pretty much keep it clean and lubed. at every oil change check the chain for slack, lube it, check the brake pads and fluid, replace the brake fluid no less than once every 2 years, check the clutch cable for propper adjustment. thats about it.

i ride my bike daily and i lube the chain about every 2 weeks.

HA HA ya i had to order the boots in my size that was right after i got the bike and didn't have the boots yet... now i do. and that bike will be paid off this year. so that "higher" APR will not even bee seen.
never even ridden a dirt bike so i will avoid rain like the plague

there are many types of chain lube - some are wax some are not. but short answer is yes.

rain isn't so bad - get a rain suit and store it under the seat. the key to riding int he rain is the same as riding on cold tires in cold weather. you have reduced traction so slow down sooner and take turns slower, keep the bike more upright. I commute to work on the bike so i ride in the rain farely frequently, it takes some getting used to, but is still enjoyable for me.
