Default Starting fresh....

I wanted to thank everyone who attempted to help me with my problem child 94 Ninja. It died on me twice on the way to work yesterday morning and it barely started back up both times, so I lost my temper when I arrived at work and posted it on Craigslist before I had a chance to change my mind. It's GONE and I'm happy about it. Once I become disgusted with something, there's no use in carrying on.

I found a black 2007 Ninja 250 yesterday which I'll be picking up wednesday.8/10 miles on the clock....yay!! I thought I wanted blue until I saw a Candy Plasma 'big boy' Ninja sitting next to it, and I'm not sure I like it that well in person. The silver isn't really me, and the red is not a true red, although I've seen some nice member pictures of it, I would rather it be the 2008 red...so black it is.

Break-in sounds tough. Since it's all highway between my house and the dealership, about 25 miles away, perhaps I'll truck it home. 4K rpm is what...40mph? Great way to get killed on I35. :-) Be talkin to y'all soon!

Very nice. I'm happy that the newer Ninjas have silver wheels. The 94 I just sold had black ones and I don't think it looked that good.

If there were anything I'd like to change, I have to say I'd like more color in the graphics. Maybe it's old school, but I liked having all the colors up and down my old bike. Maybe I can find some cool and tasteful upgrades to add to the red flames....someday.

Yeah thanks. Its funny at first I wasnt sure if I liked the silver wheels. I thought mabye the blue, yellow and especially black bikes looked better with black wheels but I have to say now I like the silver wheels better, they have really grown on me, lol. I would def say its possible to find something to ad that would really make it really stand out, good luck.

Ahh what a nice feeling to ride to work free from drama (aka sputtering, dying, smelling of gas, refusing to re-start at an intersection). I just don't know how long I'm gonna be able to stick to this break-in procedure. 4K is LOW. It's only got 8 miles on it now so I'm not gonna turn it loose yet, but 500 miles is a long distance to travel at a glacial pace. I'm gonna put 50 miles on it toeing the line, change the oil and slowly start making my way up the tachometer.

For break-in the most important thing to keep in mind is to not stay at a constant RPM. Somewhere in the crazy forum is an artical about how it can be better to go through the rev range (minus redline or there abouts) as long as you're just briefly there and shifting through gears. This is supose to help seal up your gaskets... If anyone knows where to find the study post it up and let 94ninja250 check it out and decide. Oh yeah and what about the name are you gunna keep it for old time sake? Congrats on the new bike!!!

Wheels can be powdercoated a different color.

White wheels would be killer on a red or blue bike. I agree about the decals also, my wife wants to remove the silver flames from her '07 and put something more race-like on it.
