shifting without clutch?

RE: shifting without clutch?
i'll agree with everyone who says clutchless shifting rocks.
it does.
i do it all the time. done it for years.
comes in handy when you have a broken wrist as well..
theres NO clutch wear issues while doing this, and basically, all you have to do is let off the gas, shift, get back on the gas.
theres no synchros in a bike trans. its also (in addition to what mark said) called a constant mesh gearset or trans.
all 10 or 12 gears are spinning in unison when in gear. depending on whether its a 5 or 6 speed.. i thinkthe 250 is a 6? forgive my ignorance, please.
you CAN actually downshift as well, but its about 8o times harder trying to find that magical spot where everything goes in place. that also does shock the driveline a little bit more.. unless you need to, or have mastered it somehow, i don't really condone it.. otherwise, you'll be calling me to ask how much it is for new gears and shift forks!! lol

well i am still waiting on my 08 250r but i was riding my pocket bike and my clutch just stopped working, so i had to shift without the clutch, and had no problem with it. just a little jerky and sorta hard stopping and starting but oh well, only had to ride about a mile or so.
