Default question about service manuals and production run years

alrighty, i got my kawi service manual for my bike the other day. i just had a question about the production run of our bikes. have they been the same since 87? the manual that i got is for 87, the shop i frequent ordered it for me so it should be the right one, but i am sceptical...

There have been changes in the electronics since, but the bike itself hasn't changed much. I know you can get an updated manual for the newer 250's that cover the 2000's, on up, but only Kawasaki offers these service manuals. They are very expensive too, at around $80.
