Default New Blue '06

My wife and I decided to buy bikes for commuting to save gas. Neither of us have ridden for awhile, me for 35 years, but I owned three bikes and rode a bike as my sole means of transportation in NYC and SF. My wife rode her brother's dirt bikes. I got a used '03 KLR250 and we tried to get a used Ninja 250 for my wife but everyone selling them wanted more than a new one or not enough less to justify the risk of buying used. So, we bought the last new Blue Ninja in the north of Nevada and drove 4&1/2 hours across the state to get it. Not having motorcycle licenses we couldn't ride it back. We're signed up for a class in a month, earliest available class, people are swarming to cycles and scooters around here (Reno) and I'm sure it's because of gas prices.

I keep reading about the many mods available for the Ninja 250 but haven't found many links to suppliers, and those I did find don't work, and the links to other Ninja 250 forums, referred to as "the best" produce "Can't find" from my browser for the "owners club" one and a very limited forum for the "riders".

What are some websites for other existing forums and accessories dealers?

One last question: has anybody used the Mototuneusa.com method of high revving break-in?

Thanks

There aren't many after market parts for the 250R Ninja compared to all the other Ninja models. About most you will find are small things like windscreens, flush mount turn signals, and clear tail lights. I would say ebay is my favorite place to order parts, then there is bikebandit.com, 58cycle.com, and motorcycle-superstore.com

depending on how high you rev your engine during break-in, there is a right and wrong way to do it. Breaking in your engine according to kawasaki's procedures doesn't yield the best possible engine performance. Here is a link to a page that in my opinion is the best way to do a engine break-in.

This link here is one of the best 250 journals I've seen on the net:
