Default is it just me or the clutch?

first things first...ive never riden a motorcycle nor driven stick before...so im curious to know if its normal that my clutch doesnt kick in till i've almost completely released it (1st gear)...a friend of mine rides a GXR and as soon as i begin releasing his clutch the wheels start rolling...was wondering if i can/should adjust my clutch to do that? or is this normal for a 250R? please advise. thanks.

A brand new ride, ask your dealer to look at it. Are the 250's hydraulic or cable?

its a pretty easy adjustment. there is one adjuster on the clutch perch and another on the right side of the engine, right above where you add the oil. I had to loosen mine too. there was no freeplay at all when I bought mine.

Your owners manual should tell you the spec and how to adjust. I would read that before doing anything...
