Headlight adjustment
Hi everyone!
I am new here. I just got a 1989 Ninja250R for my wife. It was great deal. 89 model, but had only 9600 miles. I have a question about the bike. How can I adjust headlight? It seems it's aming too high. When I switch to high beam, it aims directly street signs (this is best way I can describe). Please advise. I have other 2 bikes, but Ninja250 is absolutely a fun bike. I may get another one for me....

RE: Headlight adjustment
Not sure on the 250, but there is very often a paddle-type screw adjuster or two somewhere around the headlight housing on the inside of the cowl. Look around and you'll probably see something.

Thanks Jeff,
Like you bike, my other bike (87 CBR100F) has 2 adjusting screws for both vertical and horizontal adjustment. However, CBR's headlight is mounted on the top cowl, and Ninja250's is mounted on the top cowl brace. Well, I will try to find...
Thanks again!!

RE: Headlight adjustment
Here's the deal from the FAQ at forums.ninja250.org :
Adjustment Under normal circumstances, you shouldn't have to adjust your headlight when you change the bulb. Everything will bolt back together the same way it was before you started working on it. If your light is out of adjustment, look at the back of your headlight. You'll see white plastic guides at the upper right and lower left corners. The upper right is for the horizontal adjustment and the lower left is for the vertical adjustment. Grab a phillips screwdriver and put it in the guide, from the bottom. Inside the guides are phillips screws that can't be seen, that allow you to adjust the aim of your headlight. If you replaced the bulb, it's possible to have it cocked in such a way that it doesn't sit flush. If this is the case, it will be impossible to adjust the light without first installing the bulb so it does fit flush.

MikeinRichmond,
I bought this bike about a month ago. I don't know I much previous owner messed with it. However, the headlight is aiming way too high anyway. I will try as you explained.
Thanks guys!
