I have a question about the clutch on the 08 250R. The bike shifts just fine but at lower RPMs while shifting it is fairly loud. Kindof a clunk sound while shifting. Like I said, it shifts very easily but just makes a louder sound than I expected. At higher RPMs you never hear a thing. Is that normal? I haven't driven a bike in a while but I don't remember hearing the shifts like I do on this bike.

 

My brand new 08 250r does the same thing. Sounds like parts fell off. lol CLUNK! -heads turn[:@]"dont worry that's just second gear!" yeah it sounds bad, but I think thats the way they are. Anything above second gear seems very quite.

 

When do you hear the loud sound, upshifting ordownshifting? If it's downshifting keep the revs up to match the downshift...a little blip of the throttle takes care of that. I've got 500 miles on my '08 250R and haven't noticed any loud sounds from the gearbox.Try downshifting the bike more quickly when coming to a stop. If you come to a stop and the bike is in a higher gear, say 3rd, it will make some noise getting it back to 1. Don't fear revving the little motor up some...just don't go over 8-9K during your break in mileage.
