Default Carb Problem

06 Ninja: My wife layed the bike down at0 mph, it drove fine immediately after, thenwas not usedfor 4-5 weeks. I went to start it and it starts with the choke, butwhen choke is off, it dies. Now with the choke on, the rpm goes up and down and stilldies without choke on. No throttle applied at all or it dies. Drained gas from carb bowls etc. No luck. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

Cleaned the carbs to a point. Took off bowls, very clean in both, backed out bottom threaded screw and exposed needle (?),put back together, started it up, starts as usual with choke on but now the rpm goes up and down.and no throttle at alland will stall.

Any advise on exact carb clean for this 06 Ninja. Kind ofat a loss. Is there any other component other thanthe carb that I should be looking at ? or should I go back through the carb ? The gas is new. Thanks to all for replies.

I'm not familiar with that particular carb but still sounds like your not getting fuel to the motor. there should be a jet with a little hole in it, make sure it is clear of debris. Have you checked the spark plug to make sure it wasn't fouled?

I will check theplug but bike runs ok with choke set. I will try the carb again. I took it off once but not completely. I was able to get to the bowls, removed them and removed threaded brass piece. All was clean as a whistle.
Is the jet I'm looking for on the top end of the carbor the bowl (bottom). I did take the top off as well and found a rubber diaphragm and needle. Very clean. SoI agree with yoman1that it could bethe jet(s). Kindly give me an idea of what Im looking for and location if possible. I will get the book if needed but up to nowits been a very straight forward tear down and re-install. Thanks to all for replies.

Success...took a close look at my work..Number one rule, make sure that everything is seated right and tight. After cleaning the carb, I put everything back together and one of the rubber tubes was snagged on the inside out of view allowing air in andcausing the rise and fall in rpm's. Once straightened and tightened, it worked perfectly after warming up and running throught the gears a few times...Thnaks to all for the input
