Well i decided i needed to ride from Bellingham WA to Spokane WA, it was a 396 mile ride door to door. The mighty 250 did just fine, average speed was 80 mph and when i hit the wide open and flat of central WA the cruise speed was up around 90. All i have to say is past 80 kiss your fuel millage goodbye. I had to hit the reserve at 170 miles on the second leg so yeah but cruising at 80 i got 210 miles and it only took 3.5 gallons, prety freakin impressive. After i hit Mosses Lake WA i had some fun with a guy riding a 70s air head BMW, thats the big reason i was running faster the second half of the trip
Anyway all i have to say about the trip is i need a better seat and fairings might not be a bad idea...
And after this im almost temped to try an iron butt run.

 

Awesome! That makes me look forword to my 380 mile trip I plan on taking. Just need new tires before I go.

 

I was a little hesitant about my trip, but i figured guys have done iron but runs on these bikes so whats 400miles. I didnt even loose any oil wich was my main concern with spinning an engine realy fast for a long time.

 

Most I have ridden is 212 miles in one day. My butt and side of neck/to top of shoulder were killing me.
I have some problem with my right shoulder for some reason when I ride for more then 30min it tightens up
and gets sore.

But yea my il 250 did great on the trip.
