Default New Guy looking at first bike

Been recommended Ninja 650R but afraid get bored of it quick. All my cars been extremely fast. Current daily driver is 10s @130mph. & it is a daily driver 25k miles a yr.
What everyone think?
I am 250lbs & afraid 12.5sec @108mph (or slower cuz my weight get boring fast )i i always get annoyed driving regular cars cuz of lack of acceleration.
Should i step up or try this for a lil then trade it in?

Sounds like you need to get or update your will! I'm just sayin......Start out in the shallow end. Learn to swim, build skills/technique/ability. Or you could just go ball$ 2 the wall and see who shows up at the visitation. At any rate good luck.

Welcome, GQ. I'm not being critical here, just speaking from experience, OK? Obviously you have a need for speed. That's fine. Bikes are just a bit different than cars. The margin for error is considerably smaller, and bad things happen NOW, whereas in a car, bad things seem to put life in a "slow warp." Shade is right^; please consider working up to your (usual) limits. Hey; we enjoy acceleration and speed as much as you do, really! Just take the time to build your chops. It's a different skill set.
Let us know what you get and how things go. Glad to have you with us. Gear up; stay safe.

Maybe If by slim chance classes go great smooth maybe ill look at Ninja 1000 (dealer seemed to think more beginner then 6R) but if not like pro smooth ill do 650R for a year or so
Also going to test drive it first too
No need for will update no one to leave stuff to. & there wont be many at funeral.

My first bike at 15 yrs old was a Suz GT380. I should have started on something smaller. A 250 cc bike is great to learn on. As your skills develop, you'll learn to get on the throttle more whereas if you do this with a big bike you're more likely to wipe out. It's not just your funeral. Consider your broken back and life as a cripple or in a wheelchair.

Good to hear you're planning on the safety classes. Good stuff there!

Check the KLX250 forum and you'll see a guy in SanFran riding his KLX250sf and 80 to 90 mph fairly regularly.

GQ, really; it's not (AT ALL) about any of us passing judgement. We just don't want to see you get hurt or worse...because we've seen it before. (Some of us don't want YOU to learn the lessons WE learned the hard way!) A bike will F you up in a hurry. Just be patient and careful.

well yeah I know the ninja 250R has a topspeed of 95mph (2012 might be a lil higher)
just I have riden scooters alot and mean if I am going to get a 250cc which only slighty faster then scooter. To me it is same thing just motorcycle handles better.. Its two wheels and has turn throttle. I goto the drag strip very often Once I get the hang of the bike in how every long it takes (shouldnt be too long cant be too different from scooter just a lil bigger and manual trans) I want to take it to the track. At my drag strip there very few people going slower then 12s..
Hope this doesnt come out the wrong way just explaining not saying I am not valueing peoples opinions cause if that was the case Id be getting a ZX-14R right now LOL ( hey i could keep it in limited HP setting LoL)..
Talk to my friend this morning he started on a CBR600RR (thats the bike I played with in the parking lot) He said start on GSXR750 so I dont get bored since that carry my extra weight better but he is known to be reckless LMAO

Thank you guys for the help.. Im keep you guys updated.. But right now looking like Im going to get a used bike non supersport.

Used is a good way to start. Track running sounds like a kick. Gear up, stay safe, have fun.
