Hello everyone,

I recently purchased a 87 KLR 250 that was stored for 11 years. It was not running when I bought it, so I wanted to restore it. My friend and I have installed a new clutch, piston rings, cleaned the gas tank, carb, new tensioner, new battery, new gaskets, adjusted valves, BUT we kick it to death and nothing. We tried to bump start it, but it dies after 2 seconds. We're out of ideas, so I just wanted to know if there's anyone in Jersey that has experience with these bikes. Any ideas are helpful, thank you.

 

You bought the ride that did not run, and you "restored it" and it still does not run. Obviously you and your friend spent some time and $'s. Do you have the factory manual for that ride? Welcome to KF
