Default Long time Lurker...

...First time poster.

I originally started reading all of your posts as research into a new bike. I am a total virgin when it comes to motorcycles but, with the advent of my 30th birthday in May I felt it was time to stop putting off buying a motorcycle. So I'm taking my MSF course this weekend (I start friday, I'm so happy I've been giggling like a little girl...um...Did I say that out loud?) and will probably be getting my first ever bike by the end of the month.

I plan on getting the biggest, meanest machine money can buy and ....wait this isn't the squid forums hold on....

I'm going to get a Ninja 500r. It has a great seat height for my vertically challenged self (5'6" 155lbs) and it doesn't feel like I need to hit the gym 8hrs a day to muscle it around.

I have really enjoyed reading your advice and comments and look forward to being part of the forum.

Thanks

Congratulations!!!! Welcome to the forums. Glad to hear that you are taking the MSF - good luck and have loads of fun! When you get your bike, make sure you post some pics - not a whole lot of us with 500's here.

So I finally finished my MSF course, passed the written at the DMV and pulled the trigger on that new bike. Behold the wonderment that is my Ninja 500R. Fresh off the lot with three miles on it (two of them are mine, I live real close to the dealer) and I'm already going to make a couple of mods. That clear windscreen is going to get replaced with a tinted one, and I'm going to get the zx6r mirrors to smooth out the looks of the front end.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! I love the bike btw! Just something about that color.........Any ideas on where you are getting your windscreen? I want to change mine to a tinted one as well.

Have fun and start getting some more miles on that pretty little bike!

Sweet! I didn't know they made the 500R in green... Must be new for 2006. Definately something about that green!

Well, congrats, and enjoy the ride!

Thanks!

It is a brand new 2006. I think they are making the bike in green and a deep red color for '06. I saw the Kawi green and fell in love with it. It is just obnoxious enough without being pretentious . I will definitely be visible out there on the roads, the paint is louder than the pipes. lol

about the windscreen. I have been doing a little digging and 1tail.com has one for the ex500 with smoke tint for $62.99

Oddly, enough the only new Kawi 06 they had was the 500. The others were 05's. I'll keep my eyes peeled, especially for that new 'Busa eater.

Been riding the new bike for a week and I am diggin' every minute of it.
