Just Bought 1st Kawasaki
I just bought a 04 Nomad. It only has 6700 miles on the odometer. It looks like it was just bought new off of the showroom floor. It has a Mustang seat and Vance and Hines exhaust.
I owned a Suzuki Intruder 1400 for several years and really loved that bike.
It was great for one up riding but now that I'm retired, the wife likes to ride more often and the Nomad provides more comfort for her.
I didn't do much research on the Nomad before buying it. The price was right and we bought it from a private individual after a short test drive.
I'm hoping this bike is a reliable model. Is there anything I should be aware of?
It doesn't have the torque my 1400 has and isn't as nimble around town or on curves but it sure does ride smoothly.
If anyone could give me any insight on the Nomad, I would appreciate it.
The owners manual says to use at least 90 octane gas. Is this a misprint? I always use 87 octane in the Intruder and most of the guys I ride with use the 87.
I have been averaging 40-42 miles per gallon. Is that normal? That seems a little low. Some of my friends get over 50 mpg with their cruisers. I did better with the Intruder but it was a lighter bike.
Thanks for any imput.

Hey man welcome to the forums here. I don't know anything about the big road bikes, but someone on here will be on shortly with some insights for ya. Again welcome and shoot us a picture or a ride report if you get a chance.
