Welcome to the KF family. Here's my advice for you; DON'T LISTEN TO DEEJ! He's trying to bring you into the mole world. He's a great guy, just a little misguided. I don't have any experience with the particular riding gear you are asking about. However, the most important thing is that you Gear up.

I'm new to the biking world also, so i couldn't give youmuch advise on the gear. But i ama proud owner of an 08 250r and can tell you it's an amazing bike. I'm stationed at Fairchild AFB which is right outside of Spokane, so if youwant someone to ride with let me know.
