how do u fix speedodemter

i was riding today my zx 12 shut it off and the speed gauge quit working then wrok and quit a again its a 2000 zx12

im tired of the lil gsx er try to out run me i have lit 1 after a nother up ever body always want to race the zx12

check the speedo cabel at the back of the gage and at the bottom where it connects.
