Hello and some questions
I just bought a 2003 Ninja ZX7R - no miles. What kind of engine oil are you guys running in your bikes? I pick up the bike tomorrow.
I used to ride quite often, but sold my old Harley 3 years ago. I wanted back into sport bikes.
I don't plan on doing any mods, just good maintenance and maybe a K&N.

I'm sure you will a few different answers, but this is what I did.
I used regular petro based oil during the 500 mile break in and the second change at 2400 miles. At 5400 miles I went to Mobil 1 15W-50 full synthetic car oil. I heard all sorts of reasons not to use car oil, but I have over 43K on my '01 ZRX1200R with no problems. It shifts smoother and runs cooler. No clutch slippage.
There are motorcycle specific oils that are fine. Regular dino oil, syn blend and full synthetic. You really can't go wrong either way.

Welcome to the forums Kenny! Good choice on the bike, if you like to travel with stuff, the KZ is the better choice then the ZX. Best thing is you can still hit the canyons with it!
