Default Hello From The Hudson Valley Region of New Yawk.

Just thought I'd do the right thing and introduce myself. I'm scootnut. I used to ride Triumph motorcycles back in the early 1980s. Had a 1966 Tiger cub A 1967 750 Tiger and a 1968 Bonniville. More recently I opted for scooters. And let me tell ya....if you've never ridden a scooter before, DO IT!! What a blast they are. Reminds me of 1969 when I started out on my first mini bike.

Anywho, back in 1982 I wanted so badly to buy a KZ 440, or 550 LTD. I couldn't afford one, hence the old Bonnys. BUT....Last week when doing some work for a friend, I was walking into her garage and noticed something very familiar in the back corner. And as I walked toward it, I said out loud....."That's an early 1980s KZ 550 LTD". And she said, "You're right. How did you know". I told her that back in 1982 I wanted to buy one but couldn't afford it. She then told me...."Take it. it's yours".

I was like....Are you kidding me!? Well folks, she wasn't. It's mine. And the thing is MINT!!! Only 5,650 miles. THAT'S IT!! Of course I have some things to do to it first. She hasn't ridden it in 5 years, so....you know. But that'll be a piece of cake.

So....How do you like that?

Anyway, I'm happy to be here and I plan to pick some of your brains. I've been away from motorcycles for a while so any help will be greatly appreciated.

congrats on the find and welcome to KF.

post up some pics of the new ride, and ask away on any issues or concerns. I am sure that someone here has either experienced your concerns and/or another fellow member tossing out ideas to help out in brain storming.

Thanks for the welcome Dragone#19. I appreciate it. As for posting pictures.....I'm an idiot when it comes to posting pictures, but I'll see what my daughter can do for me. She lives for the computer. I call her I-phone her "lifeline". ;-) I'm still living life 1957 style....And loving it.

Thanks for the welcome deej. I appreciate it. I'll try my best to come around as much as I can. When my daughter gets back from vacation next week, I'll see if she can post some pics of my new classic 550 LTD for me.

Plus I have to start making my travels through this website and learn my way around. I spend a lot of time on my military veteran website,
(I'm prior Air Force Security Police) so getting used to a different format takes some time. But I'll get it.
