Smile Hello All

Hey there everyone. I am new and just purchased my first street bike. ZX6R. I am signed up to take the MSF course in about 2 weeks, so i wont be riding much until after that. I have ridden dirt bikes when I was younger but never a sport bike, much less a super sport. I know that the bike is a little much for me right now and plan on taking it slow until i have more skills and experience. It was such a good deal i couldn't pass it up. Hello All-joshnewbike.jpg I just wanted to say hello to everyone and see if there were any members from South Carolina.

Welcome to the forums. Nice looking bike even though it's not a KLX. Just kidding I gotta say that once in a while or people will start to think I'm getting soft.

Default Thanks

Thanks guys and gals. I am interested to learn as much as i can. I need some gear. Does anyone have any recommendations on brands. I have heard that Arai and Shoei are the best in helmets. Any suggestions are appreciated.

On helmets? Make sure that the helmet fits you. A poorly fitted helmet is worth a nickel since it will not really prove beneficial when your *** gets wiped. Everyone requires and expects a certain comfort level on helmets and their gear. Do not take it lightly.

Yea the deej rule of thumb is: If you have your helmet on and you try to eat some beef jerky and you don't bite the inside of your cheeks, then the helmet is not tight enough. And yes I bit my cheek the other day, man that hurts. Oh and remember cheek pads wear and compress over time so plan on changing them out every year or so. Or do what I did and bought 3 helmets in 6 months, and now I want yet another one. Here is what I'm looking at getting next.

New rider on a SS? I hope the deal included life insurance and a pre-paid funeral plan.

Enjoy the ride.
