Default brake problem on KDX 80

I am trying to fix my nephews Dirt Bike. It is a Kawasaki KDX 80. When you run the vin, it comes back as a 1989. But all the parts books and dealer books say it stopped at 88. The rear brakes sent for the 88, since it was the last year any of them listed, measured 90mm by 20mm. The ones off the bike measure 100mm by 28mm. Can any one shed some light on this? Thanks.

You can try this link:

http://www.buykawasaki.com/Default.a...asp?intParts=0

Enter the vin and see if it matches what the dealer is telling you. The link can tell you where it was sold from and if it's a US model Etc....
Is it possible the motor and frame are from different origins? Could it be a KX80 instead? I hope you find out, good luck.
