bike dropped at a stand, what should i do?
Hey,
I just started riding 2 days ago with my 97 Ninja 250r.
While pulling the bike up the driveway, I leaned to far to the left and dropped the bike at a stand still. I was freaked out! Go the bike upright and started the engine. Everything seems ok, but is there anything else I need to look for to maintain the bike after a fall?

Although not too likely, if the bike fell hard on the handle bars, it could have twisted the forks. But, as long as it still rides straight, you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

There is ahair linefracture on the fairring, and the turn signal fairring is broken.
(What holds the turn signal in place)NOT the turn signal it self.
Question is:
do Ibuy a wholenew fairring?
Will the fairring arroad and get bigger over time, or is itjust simply be weaker now that there is a fracture, and not something to be concerned about?
(It's not like I'm looking to sell it!)
Let me know...

You can buy a whole new fairing...but its gonna cost you money, if its not that noticable, and it is "hairline" take the fairing off and super glue it from the inside. Did that before and seemed to hold. And you gotta remember, as far as making the fairing weaker, not really, it is just plastic to start with, so its pretty weak anyways. If this is your first bike, I wouldnt worry to much about it, it shouldnt split anymore, unless you drop it again! (knock on wood).
Others may have a different opinion, but if its your first bike, I wouldnt worry too much about replacing it.

Hey also what you could do is go to your local marine store purchase some resin and what is called skincoat...real easy to work with........remoce the fairing and see if the crack is visible from the back side is not dont worry....if so ..with some 50 grit sand paper sand and area about the size of depending on crack....4 x 4......wipe off any dust and apply resin to fairing..then to mat (skincoat),,,,roll mat over crack..let dry sand to clean it up and paint where needed.....if its on the outside stick with the crazy glue....

HEY,
Superglue sound like a good idea. I'm going to try that, but what do I do with the "MENTALSTIGMA"
WhenI dropped the bike, I was sitting on it, and had to "jump" off that bike. I was shuken up.....
I'veriden the bike since than, but now it seems like I can't enjoy myself, like I'm worried about the drop again. I just want to relax and enjoy the bike the way i did when I first got it!
(which was like 4 days ago!!)
So, Don't worry, you'll get over it.....or continue to pay attention to every little thing I do to avoid a crash?
I want to get over what happened! (it's not like I got hirt, thank god for fast feet....)
Can I do that and still enjoy the ride?
