Default 2004 zx6r dies after revving past 3k

I've just bought a 2004 zx6r with 4300 miles on it for a good price and knew it came with a little work. The problem is there was a bunch of grit in the tank because it had been sitting for a while, put tank cleaner and even sprayed it out. The fuel injectors were pulled off and soaked in carb cleaner for about an hour and came out clean, fuel pump was replaced not too long ago and when the fuel line is disconnected it can shoot gas out when primed. When we run the bike around the neighborhood it only stays at 2-3k rpms and at the same part of my neighborhood it dies. Can start it up and can sometimes get it revved up to 6k and launch and get to second gear that it practically immediately dies. Would like if anyone can post any input, otherwise my next option is to take it somewhere to get it diagnosed and see what's exactly wrong with it. Thanks
