I have a 2001 900 STX that I just about sunk in the lake. Now it runs like **** understandably... Will idle fine but will not get over 5 mph now... Chock is not pulled. what could be the problem? does the motor have oil in it? if so where do i check/change it?

 

Hey Cory, welcome to the forums. I'm guessing that's a jet ski right? I was too lazy to look up the model. You might have water in the case, I would strongly suggest getting the oil out of there. Check the oil and if its grey, then definitely change it in fact you might have to change it twice in a row. Next I would check the fuel system, and maybe even the water jacket, it might have got water in the wrong side. Sorry I don't know much about them. Let us know how its going.
