OK....we all need a good story. What happened to the one you're looking to replace?

Welcome, tim. We're a fun bunch. We'll point you in the right direction if we can.....

Hey mate, I bought the bike off a 15yr old kid who outsmarted me. he delivered it and when i was about tot ake it for a ride he said "let me show you". he was going through all the gears, it ran smooth, i went over it pretty well, and outside of taking it for a ride, did everything i usually do. I paid him and off he went.
Later on i took it for a ride and the gear lever wouldnt bounce back to its original position when shifting, you had to give it a little love tap to get it back. if you went to first it wold stay down, if you went to second it would stay up.
a bit of a bummer, probably more disappointed that i was outsmarted by a 15yr old.
we took it apart to fix it, and it turned out the springy forky thing ( I think thats the technical term) had just shifted a bit, but then as we moved the engine 3 big ball bearings rolled out, exactly what you want to find.
i think the bearings got caught in a sprocket and cracked the case, no real way of knowing for sure, but were guessing thats it.

but now we need a new case, I dont konw what the case is called, on ebay it looks like its the crank case. If your sitting on the bike, its the outside csae on the right hand side.

Any help would be hugely appreciated.

Cheers

I think that
