Default Winter Problems......

Hey guys im new, hello to all......just have some questions.......i purchased a 2007 kx250f off a very good friend who babied the bike.......i started it lastnight in -3 weather (bike hasn't been started in a while) with okay oil conditions, fresh gas and enough rad fluid and noticed...the bike doesnt run on idle with choke pushed in. the bike starts and sounds amazing with the choke pulled out, soon as i push it in the bikes stays on for 12 seconds then shuts off......its pretty cold and i made the bike warm up for about 10 min but maybe 10 min in this weather isnt enough for these aluminum engines.

however i did notice, yesterday during the day i started it , made it warm up with choke pulled out , pushed choke in and went for a rip down my street and once i returned in the garage i noticed the bike was idling nice with choke pushed in.......plus the exhaust header wasnt cherry red like it was when the bike was just idling in a garage with no air.....just want to keep the best condition i possibly can for the bike.
