I joined a little while ago when I got my KX250, love it, don't get me wrong. I cannot figure out why this thing keeps overheating?! Regardless of sitting in one place, riding slow, riding down hill, beating on it, it wants to overheat.

Any suggestions?

I was checking out radiator and came across this site giving away radiators for the KX250. Anyone ever heard of them?

I know nothing on the KX, but some general questions:
Is the Fan turning on? if so does it help?
Have you tested your Thermostat?
Have you checked for air in the cooling system?
Have you checked your mix?

Let us know what you find, they always get warm when they are sitting but hopefully you can get her cooled off a little bit.

I will test the Tstat today and report back
All the air has been bled, but I guess I will be trying it again when I remove the Tstat!

No fan that I can see (remember I am a noob! - sorry if I should have known that before)

The Tstat is working fine, and I re-bled the system. What type of coolant, or mix do you recommend?

 

It doesn't have a fan, needs movement to keep it cool. Any good coolant for aluminium engines should be right. Some people recommend engine ice, I have never tried it

 

Would this Liquid Chill stuff be comparable?
