Today I decided to take the day off work and take the bike out for a spin, but before I could get away work called and informed me there was an offsite job starting tommorow working 12 hours/day for a week. Well, its the first overtime this year so I can't turn it down, problem is my tools are at work which now is 45 miles one way instead of last summer when I rode every nice day 20 miles one way. Another problem is there is no "back" way to work, all freeway through the city of Detroit. I had never taken my KLX on the freeway yet so I was a little nervous about trying this. I pondered for about 5 minutes and decided to go for it. It wasn't playin in the dirt but it was a good ride and the bike did great on the freeway @ 70-75mph, yes it was screamin, but never missed a beat! After loading my tools in my backpack which weighed about 30lbs I headed home right at the height of rush hour, luckily not too much stop-and-go but my butt is still in recovery mode--What can we do about this seat?!?

Nice that you were able to pull it off. I have more agressive dirts tire that feel spooky on the street, don't think I want to try the highway. Do youy have stock tires, or are you running with something else?

Yes, they are stock lostnite66. They do very well on paved but not very impressive off road. This summer i'm going to try the Trakmaster IIs, I just don't know how they will wear if I run them on both dirt & road.

My dad usually runs the Trackmaster II on his DRZ, he loves it. We're both running 606 Dunlops right now, and I'm not impressed with them. The 606 is better than stock but only marginally. Again, I prefer dirt to pavement. I'll be going with the Trackmaster II (in the rear at least) soon as I can burn these Dunlops up

It'll cost upwards of $300.00, but I can vouch that the difference is night and day.

If you are more budget-minded, I hear that Gold Seal powder and bicycle shorts help quite a bit.

I find it does soften and widen slightly over time, but you do get slightly used to it. Not as in you don't feel it, but it just becomes one of those things that you put up with as you ride...

I have used bike shorts and they do help--unfortunately I couldn't find them for this ride. I have seen gel seats for the DRZs, I wonder if they might come out with one for the KLX?
