Now if I had it to do all over I would get the Honda 650. Big bike for a big guy. But try and take my KLX and there is going to be some serious trouble.[8D]

It's not intended to be a 'nose snub.' However, look at what you are saying. A similarly priced KLX wouldbe with one witha 331cc mod and beefed-up springs. You are comparing your unplugged KLX250 with a bike that costs at least $1500.00 more, which is apples and oranges in my opinion. The WR250X would not eat a KLX331 or 340 'for lunch.'

The 250Xappears to be a lot more bike then some were giving it credit for though.

Dean, I think you missed my point completely. I don’t associate $ purely with horsepower, the new WR250X is nice and out of the box it bests the KLX in performance and is high quality that’s my only point, I never claimed it was a better value then the KLX250S; if value drove the bike market then KTM and Husqvarna would be done. The retail price difference between the WR250R and 09 KLX250S is exactly $1,000 and $1,100 if compared to the X. IMHO money well spent if you have it and can stand the blue plastic.

& note we are talking a X here. You could not add tires, 17" rims, SM brakes, etc PLUSall the motor mods (let alone the FI, frame, beefier suspension etc) for $1100.

Its hot, we should thank Yammi for raising the bar, lets hope everyone else tries to catch up!

Sadly, Kawasaki continues to ignore the growing U.S. supermoto market, while they introduce a fuel injected D-tracker here in Japan. I think it would take something similar to the flood of emails they received on the Versys for them to finally wake-up.

It's just gets annoying sometimes watching them put facades on out-dated technology while Yamaha and Hondamake the new stuff available.
