Default WTF I need parts or another bike

Is it so hard to make a few extra parts on the off chance someone takes this bike off road and breaks something? I ordered a radiator fairing- back ordered fork gaurd- discontinued thanks Bike Bandit.

This bike is becoming a real P.I.T.A OEM parts are expensive, scarce and no aftermarket support. Seriously tempted to get a plated xr400r after taking my friends for a ride. Parts are cheaper and it's got plenty of power stock! It just kill me to let the Kawi go I threw a ton of cash at it, Extra rims/tires, big bore, exhaust etc. and I know I won't get squat for it. I love the lil green mountain goat to death but it's becoming apparent that it's a love hate relationship.

I get some things from here.

And I use UFO fork guards instead of oem.
Lots of help on this forum if you need things, just ask.

Some of the stock Kawi fork guards are junk. Mine became brittle and shattered. Save yourself some time and $$ and read this. https://www.kawasakiforums.com/forum...ad.php?t=31419

Coming from an XR400 to the KLX I agree. I made it 5.9 miles into a trail and the right side radiator shroud was broken. No crash, it just caught a small tree as I slid to a stop. The plastics seem exceptionally brittle. The shroud is in two pieces but you have to buy them as a pair for 72$!!! at my local dealer.

So yes, I am beginning to wonder if the KLX is a street queen. It is still the best dual sport option in a state where they don't allow conversions.

lol, I thought duct tape was the only thing with that many uses!
I'm impressed.

Sold my 06 for 4000 CDN, picked up an 08 KTM 450 EXC for 4100

you can get whatever you want as long as someone likes it. Big bore is attractive....

No aftermarket support? Let's see...my UFO fork guards ala dan's suggestion...Acerbis 3.7 gallon tank (maybe the best thing I had on my recent Moab trip)...Race Tech suspension internals...Eibach rear spring...Muzzy full exhast...Twin-Air and various other air filters...various big bore kits, fork bushing kits, seals, and many, many other knick-knacks and doo-dads from all sorts of companies. Some people don't know how to dig around and figure that many Kawasaki models like the KLX300, some KX models, and some KDX models allow much interchange from both OEM parts and aftermarket parts for the KLX250. I owned 4 different XR250's from '84-'90...same tech as the XR400...and I believe I'll pass on that older air cooled technology. It was great then, but this older '90's water-cooled technology in the KLX is better IMO.
