RE: WOW!!!!!!
Question? Did you order the piece that fits inside the pipe that makes it more quite? If so how much louder is it from the stock one?
I was just thinking about getting the slip-on version of this pipe. What are your thoughts on that?

RE: WOW!!!!!!
no I did not order the piece to make it quieter it only has the spark arrester in it.
it is way louder than stock, you can hear it very easily at any speed when hammering down the trails.especially over 7000rpm where it really is at home and wants to be.
even with the noise i would still put it on again.but thats just me I really love the deep throaty exhaust sound now.compared to stock it really does and sound like it makes pretty serious power.(compared to stock)

Man I really like the look of that Muzzy pipe but I dont think that I want something that loud.. I dont mind a deeper sound but not too too loud. I wounder if you put the silencer piece in it how much difference that would make. Anyone know?? And will the slip-on version of this fit the klx or will I have to use an adapter??

RE: WOW!!!!!!
Check out the muzzy website about sound levels. I can't find the stock sound levels but I would like to compare them.

"The Kawasaki KLX / Suzuki DRZ pipe returned the following unofficial sound test results when tested by “The Blue Ribbon Coalitionâ€, a national off-road rights group. The test was conducted in the accepted 45 degree at 20 inches manner. At 3750 RPM, with the spark arrestor screen and our quiet core installed, the Muzzy pipe yielded a sound level of a very quiet 93 db.!
Our own tests, conducted at a slightly higher 4000 rpm yielded 94-95 db with the quiet core and spark screen, 97 db with the spark arrestor screen alone, and 100-101 with the “open†muffler.
These results put the Muzzy exhaust with the quiet core and spark arrestor well under the new (Jan 1,2003) California off –road sound limit of 96 db (when tested in the same manner)."
I think the 97dB with the spark arrestor will be about perfect. Although the DRZ400 referenced in the test doesn;t rev ot 10,500 like the KLX250, so the results may vary.

It looks like the headpipe is either touching, or very close, to the rubber coolant hose? Is it? Or just the way it looks, but NOT actually burning a hole in the hose?
