Love this thread, like taking a stroll down memory lane... Should have known there would be a lot of common ownership history in this group. Birds of a feather and all that...

Great pics MARKCR. I had a '72 DT100 (green tank) that looked a lot like your DT125. It qualifies as my worst bike only because of its quirks and my own ignorance at the time. Seemed like the thing ate plugs like candy (I seem to recall there were two plug holes in the head so you could quick swap a fouled plug) probably due to the primitive nature of those first generation oil injection pumps. Thing never really ran that well but was fun just the same.

My next two bikes, a '74 SL125 and a '79 XL250S, were absolutely bulletproof. Older technology, softly sprung to be sure, but both were great fun. One of the primary reasons I bought my KLX is because it reminded me so much of the XL250. Once the dual sport bug bites you it's pretty hard to shake....

Mine has to be my 79 KZ650 I had from 1989-1993...3200 miles when I bought it...

Ran like a champ then started to blow up coils...$250 bike shop bill that they wouldnt guarantee 100%....Well blew that coil up in 10 miles...Two more coils after that in 10 miles....

Then my ex carved bad things on my cherry original paint....Then a ex-buddy pushed my bike off a cliff at his house when I left it in his garage for storage.....He answered my questions with a shotgun in his hand....See he was dating my ex..........lol

My first bike was a Yamaha AT2 125, had a lot of fun with it but it broke all the time.
Had a 1982 XR 500 that was a big pig, it was reliable tho.
Later I had a 1987 Yamaha YZ 490, Way too much power, it was really hard to start also.
Had 2 KDX 250's GREAT dirt bikes loved them both. Love the Green

worst bike would have been my first brand new bike,it was an 81 kawi csr305 that I bough as a leftover in 1984 for a whopping $995.00. It was no wonder why the thing never sold new in 81, the thing was nutless and handled like crap. As much as I hated the bike I kept it a couple yrs and then sold it to a friend that thought the thing was the sweetest ride ever.I'd like to think the thing was so nutless because it sat so long but was told otherwise by several people that had also owned them.LOL
