Default The Worst Bike I've Ever Owned

NO, NOT THE KLX250S.

Everyone has had that bike in their history that beat the crap out of them. For me it was a 1988 Yamaha YZ490. 490 cc's of 2-stroke horsepower! That bike gave me fits! I'm only 165 lbs and I'd get arm pump so bad that I'd nearly crash into trees because I couldn't steer around them. The clutch was so hard to pull in that by the end of the day I'd just "speed shift" it. Talk about a monster of a bike.

How about you???

The 1981 Yamaha Vision 550
bad front brakes
bad rear brakes
wobbles at freeway speeds
hard to start
heavy (462 lbs.)
no power (65 Hp)
first down draft style carbs

but it was pretty!

a 68 yamaha enduro 100cc that had major problems never got it running right. until one day it ran perfectly trying to push start it it fired up and took off from me and crashed into a chain link fence and caught fire. nothing to do but sit and watch it burn.

I guess I've never had a bad bike. I was thinking about getting a Ninja, but maybe I better quit while I'm still ahead. Buwahahahahahahahaha

These are the bikes I can remember and they all ran great.

Honda MR 50
Suzuki RM 80
Hodaka Combat Wombat 125
Honda CB 450
Rickman 125
Yamaha 750 Special
Yamaha QT 50 Moped (LOL)
KLX 250 (The best of all)

Oh, that reminds me of a really funny story. On my first bike, a Yamaha DT125, I broke the throttle cable and me and a buddy decided to try an old cable he had in his parts box. We had no idea what it was from but hell, we hooked up the ball ends and decided to give it a try. We must have been in our mid teens. I push started it in 2nd gear and when the engine caught, the "much shorter" cable was holding the slide wide open. Needless to say the bike took off with me doing a superman (before people started doing supermans) and I smashed right into the side of our house!

I ran a nighthawk in a road racing series every week had to buy new rotors and timing chain. It would also head shake so bad that I broke the stops on the frame OH the memories.

i had a 1977 xr75 that i blew the motor on so i used to take my brothers dt125 all the time. i was so short that both my legs were 6 inches off the ground. my cousin who was a sasquatch at 12 yrs.old had to kick start it for me. he had a '78 xr 75 but wouldn't let me ride it so he would start the dt then go start his xr and off we went.

'74 Harley Sportster. Shifted on the right. Kept it a month. Almost killed myself twice.
Thing would beat me silly. Rode rougher than hell.
