HS jobs:
dishwasher - kinda fun but exhausting.
farm hand on a nursery farm, back breaking work in the sun.
Summer jobs in college:
Factory worker watching rolls of linoleum go by on the way to the oven to bake the coating on them. My job was to stare at this for 8 hours and patch any holes with masking tape...which was almost never. No one to talk to, can't read the paper, etc... I screwed up so many times, they made me the janitor which was actually great.
Lifeguard - sit and stare all day long. Once in awhile do a rescue or cpr, or just maybe a decent looking chick would come by.
Deli clerk - cut lunchmeat for summer tourists. Highlight was going to the walk-in fridge for more potato salad.
They all sucked, which motivated me to get my degree. I'm a network engineer/security guy now which is awesome. I love my job. I go home and remotely connect to work to do things. It's never too late to go back to school. The lady next to me is 50ish, just got her bachelor's and her kids are in HS.
