Default worse job

this may be a little off topic but they do pay for our kawasaki mods, anyway i am about to get ready for work and i am absolutely dreading the day, i work for the phone company in a call center which isn't a bad gig being out of the wheather, the problem isn't the ignorant customers calling up about problems and acting like a badass over the phone (which is funny sometimes)its the fact that the job is very very very very very boring, i just sit and ask the same questions 90-125 timesa day 5 days a week for the past 8 years...man i hope i get a transfer hahawhats the worse jobs u guys have or has had?

Yikes - that does sound boring! My all time top 5 worse jobs has to be service manager at a car dealership. Customers would be screaming at you that the mechanics did a bad job or they were overcharged or their cars weren't fixed on time - gave me an ulcer!

My Aunt has worked for a few phone/internet call centers like that, and she hated every minute. No training, and thrown right into the job. She said that when they put you on hold what they are actually doing is sharing how stupid this caller is and they are all laughing. Yea sounds pretty funny actually. I've never had a bad job. Got right into an electrical apprenticeship program after pulling lumber on a green chain out of high school.(wow was that 25 years ago already?) Worked for several lumber mills as a millwright/electrician. Ran a Veneer Lathe for a year, hospital maintenance and then now working for the University of Washington. Been here 12 and a half years, best job ever. I really feel for people that have jobs they hate, because in the last 12 years I have never had a bad day here. Just remember that it sometimes takes a half dozen jobs or more to end up with a really good one. I was fortunate, I was able to trade experience for formal education/training. I never went to college, but somehow ended up being very fortunate and I don't take a minute for granted. I'm always telling young people to talk to hospitals or schools and get into the maintenance department, its a good place to start. But if I was just getting out of school right now in this day and age, I would go to a radiology school and become an X-Ray tech...you make great money and can get a job anywhere. The turnover here in our small town is huge. I guess you have to really like living in the middle of nowhere.

My first job was as a dishwasher at a local hotel/restaurant and i thought i wanted to learn the ropes of cooking...that turned out to be a worse job than washing dishes as the waitresses would place their orders (appetizers, main courses) and then scream at you when their steak (well done at that) wasn't ready at the same times as their salad (when the salad was actually on the order slip as an appetizer)...man I hated that job! Nothing worse than an impatient waitress on her period.[:@]

When I was in college I workeda couple summers at the Sony compact disc manufacturing plant that used to be in Springfield. I worked 12 hour shifts in the packaging department. Talk about a boring job! Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz... putting the same CD in the same sleeve day after day, for 12 hours a day, in the same sterile white packaging room with tiny window that are too high to see out of. On other days it was feeding jewel cases into a packaging machine hour after hour, over and over, just feeding the machine (you start to feel like you are just another part of the machine). The only highlight was when the machine would jam up and start munching jewel cases and CD's, crunching them into little sparkly bits..."crunch, crunch, crunch..."
