Sorry about the crappy pics, I used my Dad's camera. I wanted to take the pics outside but it just would not quit snowing. This pic is the Garmin sitting happily in my newly installed RAM mount. It's a little too close to my face. When it's warmer I will move it around to find the best place.

Forgot to say that whenI got everything hooked up I wanted to go for a quick ride. I rolled slowly out into the snow (6in of fresh snow over ice) and fell off. I looked around, got back on and went for itanyway. I fell twice more before I could get it back in the garage. I guess it was a good test for the RAM mount and saddle bags.

Nice looking setup, Ryan!

Looks like a Moose Racing toolbag on the back, though ... hope Mr. Wolfman (the one in Colorado, not the pic above) doesn't find out!!!

Willthe retaining strap across the seat fitunderneath between the seat and the tank, or will you take the straps off if you take the bag off?

Lol..I've seen that wolfman pic before. Forgot about that.

The straps just lay over the top of the seat and are adjustable. To remove the bags, all straps must come off. The bag on the back is a cheesy, smelly, broken camera bag I robbed from my Dad's old 8mm video camera. Works good!!I will be getting the Wolfman tool bag but the stuff is spendy so it will be awhile.

Oops! My bad! I didn't mean to insult anyone with a Moose Racing toolbag when I said that's what it looked like!

After all, Ryan said the crappy pictures were from his dad's camera. And judging from his dad's old"cheesy, smelly, broken camera bag", its easy tosee how I could make such a mistake!

My apologies anyway.

Mike

P.S. - My apologies to anyone with a "cheesy, smell, broken camera bag" that they got from their father, too!

I was looking at the Dirt Bagz saddlebags to set up on my KLX.

How are you protecting the bag from the exhaust? Are you using any brackets or just draped over the seat and strapped on? If so, do they seem like they would stay attached securely with off road riding?

Thanks in advance.

The dirt bagz look great with the metal frame. I was keeping an eye on them and they were doing prototype for the klx250. I must have deleted it from my favorites list. Can you share that link? Thanks.

Here is the link to Dirt Bagz. I have heard nothing but great things on these bags if you are off road riding.

http://www.moto-sportpanniers.com/dirtbagz/index.html

I talked to the owner of the company and his bracket manufacturing is located in California. Unfortunately The KLX 250 is not out there since it is not California street legal. He is getting one from Kawasaki to use but has no idea when they will ship him the bike. So no time frame on brackets for the KLX. he is having some loops sent to me free to weld on my brackets to mount the bags. A real nice guy who is a dirt biker.

I'm flying to Thailand so I will have some brackets made over there since they look quite simple using 5/8 mild steel tubing.
