Why is this not coming off so I can fix the star shifter??? I've tried and tired and it wont come off.

assuming all the bolts are out, then the gasket is just stuck... do some gentle prying and use a rubber mallet to try and knock it free.

 

Ummm cause you're not following instructions...lol

Per Service Manual
Remove Sprocket Cover & Sprocket
Remove Shift Pedal
Remove Shift Mechanism cover

Pull out external shift mechanism
Remove nut to the front ot the mechanism (sorry no pic)
Take off gear set lever

Installation is the reverse of removal..lol

After above if cover is still being a pia use the trusty dead blow hammer to give the cover a pop

 

Now I can see the picture, why couldn't I before?

 

OK i finally got it off, that gasket was just on there good. I just got my service manual today
now i gotta wait til the gasket comes in to ride my bike
