Default Where do you guys go all the time?

Was doing some thinking. I think I have about.. 4800 or so on my bike. Its an 06 model. I bought it in 2008 i believe with about 650 on it, I think? I've considered myself to put a lot of miles on the bike. Gone many places, done many things, sometimes the same things many times over.

Then I see how many of you ride so far with newer bikes. I wonder...where the hell do you go all the time? Is it all rode miles? do you take it to work and run errands with it? Or is all this offraod? How often do you ride?

When I was doing the offroad thing, I would ride the track about 2-3 times a week for about an hour each session. Before that I rode once a week for about 6-8 hours. Before that it was just all riding on the farm. Riding everyday but never very far. Also doing some street bike riding and a few other things mixed in. But none of this compares to the mileage you put on.

I use mine to go to work for about four months a year and a bunch of riding in the woods and with luck at least one many day mostly off road tour a year. If all goes well I should have about 16000 KM on my 09 by the end of the summer.

I've put just over 4,000 miles on my '09 in the year I've had it. Those have been mostly trail miles. Sometimes the local OHV parks, I've taken it to Moab, the Little Sahara a couple times, and a couple trips to Clayton and the Ouachita national forest. I trailer it to anyplace not local to save the tires, but normally park the car for the weekend once I set up camp. I've put just over 50,000 on my 2007 Ninja 250 commuting to work.

it my daily ride, and the only one i have. also rode a lot, almost every day at a spot near my house. death valley is dope, kernville has a lot of really good riding, ocotillo wells is my old stomping ground, and once fall comes, im looking at the glamis area (but away from all the yahoos and rangers, out side of the fee area). i got a civic when i was ball deep in cars, did 50k in one year. got the bike, did about 8k the first year, could have done more but i got to try and make this thing last longer than my car did. for info reasons, got the bike about last june 08, bikes got 16.6k right now.

Well in the summer its nothing for me to go out on logging roads and drop 100+ miles. Or do a few trips like my trip to Canada, that was 700 in 4 days. Just get out there and ride!!!

I guess it really boils down to how much do you love to ride? I use any excuse to ride. I ride to work, then at lunch I ride to the post office and then home, and after lunch back up to work and then home again. Ok all of that is only like 8 miles total...but still.

I can guarantee that if I had someone else that loved to ride I would have a lot more miles on my bike. But 13,500 is about average with this bike for 4 and a half years.

I love that Anza-Borrego area. The trail from the Carrizo Badlands Overlook that goes all the way to Split Mountain is one of my favorites. Rodriquez Canyon is great too. Heck...they're all good. The canyons and washes are awesome in that area. I usually camp in the Yaqui Well area, as the Ocotillo Wells camping area seems to turn into a circus...especially on the weekends.

Death Valley is great too. Trail Canyon, Echo Canyon, and Cottonwood may be my favorites over there, though Warm Springs is probably more scenic overall. That whole part of California is a hoot.

I came home via the Glamis Dunes one year, and the only motorcycles I saw were 2-stroke MX rigs with sand paddle tires. I'm sure there are other places to ride in the Glamis area, but those dunes seemed to suck the life out of any dirt motor that wasn't a high horsepower rig.

Do many people really use this bike for long rides? By long I mean 500+ miles. I like to ride but after a couple of hours my azz and back are killing me.

Maybe I just need to get used to it though.
