Default When should I do a valve check?

Alright well now that summers almost here, (even though we're having a crazy snow storm up here) I want to start checking up on my bike.

I've heard a lot of bad stories with valves on the KLX, how often should I check these? And what else should I be checking out on my KLX?

I have a 2013 KLX250s, 10,000 KM, only 'mod' is a FMF powercore4, but installing Dynojet kit and a Megabomb on it. Except that she's staying stock till next year when I put the 351 in.

What should I be looking at?

Thanks

The first valve check is at 12,000km so yours is close enough to do it now.

Other than that just a general once over thoroughly so you're set for the summer.

A general observation of these forums is that it is the KLX300s that were having the intake valve clearance problems. Only a few thousand miles and thinner shims needed.
